25 Things About Me

So, there's this thing going around Facebook called "25 Things." I was recently tagged in one, so I figured I may as well do it too. It was actually quite hard thinking of 25 things about me, but I did it! So here it is.

1. I do my hair naked. I don't know why, maybe because I feel like I don't have time to get dressed right out of the shower fearing that my hair will not turn out right (even though it never really does turn out right) so I never do. I just get out of the shower and go straight to the blow dryer.
2. I want to get a house with lots of land so that I can run a no-kill animal shelter. I want to run a safe-haven for all of the helpless animals that get abused, ditched, whatever it may be. This has been a lifelong dream of mine.

3. I would do ANYTHING for any member of my family. Cousins, grandparents, siblings, you name it. I love them all to death and if they're in need of anything, I'll be there for them.

4. I can be very organized, but that takes a lot of time for me. If I were to start out completely new with new things in a new place (EVERYTHING has to be new...clothes, furniture, appliances, etc.) than I would be organized and keep it organized. I love to be organized, but most of the time, I'm not. My place is a mess nearly all the time.

5. I'm a packrat. I always have been. If it weren't for me being so disorganized and messy, I would have every movie ticket stub that I've ever been to. It's funny because every once in a while I'll come across say a fortune from a fortune cookie that I had gotten four years prior, I'll remember the exact situation in which I got it, and then I'll put it in a place and think "Okay, this will be my new place for fortunes from fortune cookies." Then, the next time I get a fortune, I'll forget where I put the last one and have to make a new place.

6. I'm lazy. Flat out lazy. It's very possible for me to not be lazy, but not at the moment. I have no appointments or deadlines; therefore, I work at my own speed, which is that of a tortoise. If I had a paper to write by tomorrow and a job to be at by 6:00, I'd do it all and dust and vacuum on top of my finishing my math homework. Oh, and that essay would be A+ work with 750 extra words. The more I have to do, the more I get done.

7. I have recently become addicted to Coke Zero. Before college, I never drank coke or carbonated drinks or anything like that. It was usually just water and powerade. When I got to college, I started to drink coke more and more. Now, I have 5+ cokes a day. Ah, that's soo unhealthy.
8. Jonas and Keegan are my angels. They are both sent from God. They're both my saving grace. I'd be lost without them.
9. If I could finish just ONE thing by the end of the year, I'd want it to be my book. I've slowly (but surely) been working on it since as long as I can remember. I keep starting and restarting. So I've got about 25 different beginnings. I don't know why I can't just stick with one, finish it, and then revise. I wish I was more patient.

10. I love dimples. They're one of my favorite features on people. I have dimples, but they're very very faint. Of all my siblings, I'm the only one without predominant dimples, and I hate it. I wish mine were more noticeable. It's definitely the first thing I notice on people.11. The thing I miss the most about my past is soccer. It was my life, I breathed soccer. I hate that I can't/don't play anymore. I wish I could still get out there and play.

12. I think there's nothing more refreshing than going out for a good run. There's something about the way it feels...the steady beat of my feet hitting the ground, the way my lungs are working overtime to keep up with my body, the breeze in my face. I really don't know. I just love it. Although nowadays, I'm sure my heart would explode, my lungs would collapse, and my legs would turn to lava. Hmph.
13. I have recently become addicted to blogging. I am constantly trying to think of new things to write about in here. I'm pretty sure nobody even reads it, yet I continue to write in it.

14. I'm a homebody. Anybody who knows me probably knows this. I think it really started junior year in high school. I would've much rather stayed at home then go out, which is weird because before that I hated being at home. In college is when it really got worse. I often times wouldn't leave my room for weeks. I'd order in and invite people over. And now, I rarely leave. I've got everything I need right here, so why go out?15. There are certain shows that I HAVE to watch throughout the week. I literally would drive myself crazy wondering "What happened?!?" if I don't watch it. Right now, those shows are Desperate Housewives, Lost and ... guilty... A Double Shot at Love. Although, the last show ends next week, so what am I supposed to watch on Tuesday nights now? Haha...kidding.

16. I've always wanted to travel. Actually, before I met Jonas, I had planned on never getting married, writing, and traveling. I would live off of the money I'd earn writing. I would really love to visit as many countries as possible. Get to know the culture, help out a little, anything. I just love that there are different cultures out there. In America.. I don't know how to explain it, other than it being of no culture really. Maybe it's because I'm American, but I just find it boring what we do (nothing out of the ordinary). I want to experience life as others do.

17. I love antiques. Maybe not necessarily antiques, but anything old. Or anything that looks old. For instance, I love glass jars. But I love glass jars with scrapes, burns, etc. I think it adds character to it.18. I knit, but I only know how to knit scarves and blankets. Basically, I can't to anything other than knit in a straight row, although I'd really like to learn how to knit even a hat, a sweater would be super cool too.
19. I love sharpies. I love to draw with sharpies and write with sharpies. I could probably do that all day.20. I'm pretty good at solving sudoku puzzles. A very successful businessman with very smart friends once said, "I really don't want to give her a big head, but Sam is the best at solving sudoku puzzles of anyone I've ever seen." :) I'm one of the people that does the New York Times in pen.21. I don't understand most peoples sense of humor. I can't joke with strangers. Well, I can dish it I just can't take it. For instance, I walked in to purchase something the other day, and the clerk kept making jokes with me. I eventually got pretty frustrated because I could never tell when he was serious or kidding so I finally said "Don't joke with me anymore. I don't know you, certainly not well enough to know your sense of humor. So quit it."22. I have a major blushing problem. I just can't help it. I very rarely even get embarrassed. It really sucks because I do get embarrassed when I blush, making me blush even more. I hate it when all attention is on me, so my face turns bright red. Whenever something unexpected happens, my face turns bright red. If I were the last student to walk into a classroom full of kids already seated, my face would turn bright red. I hate it!

23. I'm a movie fanatic. I'd rather watch a movie than a tv show any day. I could watch movies all day long. Give me a tv, dvdplayer/vcr, and some Ben and Jerry's ice cream, and I'm golden.24. I miss a lot of things. I miss my old friends that were so dear to me, I would give anything to rekindle my relationship with them and make it like old times. I miss my house in Loomis, California and running around our acres of land. We had a creek, hundreds of trees; it was every kids dream and I would pay big money to get that house back and raise my kids there. I miss seeing my family every day (for those of you that are sick of your family.. cling tight to them. Tell them you love them.. once you don't have them anymore, you'd give anything just to have more time with them).

25. I'm scared to try new foods. I don't know why, I just stick with what I know and like. I sometimes wish I wasn't so scared, there's so much out there that I haven't had the pleasure of trying yet. That's something I need to work on because I sure do love food.

Rule #46. Show respect for military personnel.

Scared of new foods!!! Have you ever watched Bizzare Foods with Andrew Zimmern on the Travel Channel? LMAO!! I have had to turn the channel a few times because I didn't want to chuck up my food!

You have a passion for soccer, so why not try out for a team? Do some research to see if there are any semi-pro or arena soccer teams in the area. Don't feel like you cannot do it if you haven't tried!

Yes, when your son gets older, I'll be his agent! But what if he likes football or basketball better??? That's where the cha-ching$$$ is at, really!!!

In the meantime, stop by the website I emailed to you and see if you'd like to freelance! It's a great way to make some extra money on the side...

E'lona :o)
