The Chocolate-Eating Bikini-Wearing Sailor!!

Keegan, Kalie, Avery and I went out shopping this morning while Jonas and David slept. They have tonight and tomorrow off and return to work Monday morning, so it's nice to have our time again.

At the store, Keegan got into the chocolate coins that I had got for Jonas.

It reminded me of a few days ago when I gave him a few bites of my pudding.
This is what happens when I am trying to keep Keegan quiet during the day while Jonas is sleeping... I think it's one for the yearbook, haha. This is his ADORABLE sailor's suit, courtesy of Ashley (thanks Ash!)Tomorrow, Jonas and I are going to look for a dress for me to wear to Kalie and David's WEDDING in April. :) :) :) Oh what a great weekend!

Happy Birthday Jonas!!

Today is Jonas's 24th birthday! I missed his birthday last year because I was stuck in Georgia while he was in Germany, so this year I went a little crazy and bought him a bunch of stuff. AND my dear friend Kalie is watching Keegan for us tonight, so we actually get to go out on a date!!

From the first time I met him, I knew I thought he was cute. From the first time we hung out, I knew I liked him. From our first date, I knew I was hooked. From our first vacation, I knew I was going to be upset when he left.
From the first time he met my family, I knew I was in love.
From our second vacation, I knew I was going to have a broken heart.
From his first visit back, I knew there was still a chance. From my first trip there, I knew we could make it happen. From the time he proposed, I knew I was the happiest girl in the world. From our wedding day, I knew we would make it.

From the birth of our son, I knew we were not only going to make it,
we were going to last forever.

Unfortunately, Jonas has to work on his birthday...twice. He just got off at seven o'clock this morning and is now sleeping. When he wakes up, he has to go to the doctor for his follow-up appointment (for his toe), then dinner, then off to work again until tomorrow morning. Luckily, He gets a break this weekend, so we are going to eat Mexican food with the Atkins family tomorrow night.

Playing with Paint

I just recently downloaded Paint.NET and have taken extreme pleasure in editing photos without. Although it's certainly no work by Lisa, here they are.
See any similarities? Some various choices on Paint.NET
Rule #73. Never forget your anniversary.

Weird that that would be the rule for today. I would like to go into it a little further. Not only should you never forget your anniversary, but you should also never forget the good times. This has been a trying time for me and a lot of people around me. Seems like everyone I know has had a rough time so far in 2009. As long as we all stay positive and remember everything good, we will make it through. I took a stroll down memory lane last night, reading old cards and looking at pictures. Maybe we should all do so and redefine who we are. It's easy to lose ourselves with the daily stresses we may have; just don't forget what's important.

Something important that I shouldn't forget right now - Jonas's birthday begins in 16 minutes.

More Forgotten Rules

I'm updating for those I've missed in the past few days!

Rule #68. Be brave. Even if you're not, pretend to be. No one can tell the difference.
Rule #69. Whistle.
Rule #70. Hug children after you discipline them.
Rule #71. Learn to make something beautiful with your hands.
Rule #72. Give to charity all the clothes you haven't worn during the past three years.

If ever I'm having a bad day, I look at these rules. They make me think and usually get me out of that mood. I suggest everybody does this, or at least finds something that can do the same for them.

New Car!!

Sorry I haven't written in a few days. Jonas and I got a new (to us) car!

I haven't gotten out there and taken pictures of it yet, but this the same truck in a different color. Ours is white. Fun stuff!!

Bowling with the Atkins!

On Monday night, the four of us (Jonas, David, Kalie, and I) went bowling at this place called "Ten Pinz" at the Louisiana Boardwalk. David's parents were kind enough to babysit Keegan and Avery for it. It was a well deserved break and we had a blast!

I won the first game (with 99 points....pfft) and David won the second...not sure what his score was.Sorry about this last one being so dark! There is also a very VERY hilarious video of David dancing that I highly recommend you watch. I don't know how to save a video from a page, but you can see it on Kalie's blog. We played one round of pool afterward and I think Jonas and I won, but I'm not positive. We took complete advantage of having a sitter - we didn't get home until after 1:00!! I'm glad we finally got a night out!

Rule #64. Take a photography course.
Rule #65. Let people pull in front of you when you're stopped in traffic.
Rule #66. Support a high school band.
Rule #67. Demand excellence and be willing to pay for it.

Grandpa and Uncle Conner Visit!

This past weekend, my dad and brother Conner came to Shreveport to visit us! Jonas was working night shift, so they didn't get to see him that much. Jonas cut his sleeping time very short just to spend more time with my family.

Right when they got off the plane, we went to Chili's, just me, Dad, Conner, and Keegan. I look sooo big next to Conner here!

Here's Keegan with his grandpa just after they saw our apartment for the first time! We're getting ready to take Jonas to work on their first night here.

Conner playing with his favorite nephew (hehe) in the backseat. On Sunday, we went to the Louisiana Boardwalk (after getting up at seven o'clock so we could go with Jonas to breakfast after he got off work). Here they are in front of our fountain.

Conner and Keegan in front of the elk at Bass Pros Shop.

Keegan with his grandpa with the bear at Bass Pros Shop. Look at those eyes!!

On the Merry-Go-Round at the Louisiana Boardwalk. Doesn't Conner just look like he's having a blast? Haha.

Conner and Keegan playing in the hotel room.

On Sunday night, we went to dinner with David, Kalie, and Avery at Buffalo Wild Wings. We love going there because the kids can be loud and it won't bother anyone. It was so good to see my dad and brother, and I look forward to more visits from them and my other family members...or visiting them. :)

Sci-Port Pictures

This goes along with my post a while ago. Here are some of the pictures from Sci-Port!

I could have watched this forever. It so cool how people just designed this so the balls would be constantly moving.

Avery and Keegan looking at the little alligators! (or something..)

I never thought it'd be so hard to pull my own weight! I need to start gaining strength hah.

Avester in front of the blown up ant!

This was really neat. Maybe I'm just not very smart, but I couldn't figure out for the life of my way air blowing out of the tube I'm holding kept the beach ball in it's path, no matter at which angle I put it.

Avery and Keegan playing with the blocks.

She had to crank up the bell then pull on it in order to get the bell to chime. Toooot!

This was Keegan's first time sitting up in his stroller this way! (Is that considered a milestone? Haha..hardly)

And by the looks of it, the moms had more fun than the kids at this science museum! Hehe.

Rule #62. Use your wit to amuse, not abuse.

A Little Bit of KP

These pictures are ones that I've taken today and yesterday.

The poor guy wasn't even eating, he was only chewing on the bottle because he's teething.

Playing with Bo and Daddy!

He is always trying to eat the cats...that can't be healthy!

So, Jonas and I were eating dinner while he was jumping in his door jumper. We look up to find him like this.

A closer look at what he was REALLY doing in his door jumper.

I hope everybody has a wonderful weekend! Tomorrow, my dad is coming into town with Conner. I am so excited!!

Rule #61. Ask someone to pick up your mail and daily paper when you're out of town. Those are the first two things potential burglars look for.

Game Night!

Last night, after our long journey through Shreveport, Kalie, David, and Avery came over for dinner and games. Keegan once again had been quite fussy but as soon as Avery got there, he became quiet. How cute are they playing together!? I couldn't choose just one, so I put all three pictures we took of them up.
Avery crawled over to where Keegan was playing and began playing with him. It was so sweet.

Every time Kalie and I are out with them, people ask if they are twins. I don't think they look that much alike..
Here I am, looking lovely like always. We played two games; the first one was Imaginiff and the last was Partini. In Imaginiff, you have a card that you fill someone's name in and have to pick the best answer. For example:

Imaginiff Jonas were an animal. Which would he be?
1. Rottweiler
2. Ferrett
3. Parakeet
4. Rhino
5. Mouse
6. Giraffe

We all had numbered cards and we would put whatever answer we thought was best face down. Once we all picked, we'd flip the cards over. Say three people picked 2, and one person picked 5. The three that picked two would advance one space. If there was a tie, everybody would move.

This game was a bit more interactive. There are six different games to play within this game. The person at the end to collect the most coasters wins. You get a coaster by successfully beating the game on the back of the coaster. For example: On the "WHAT NOT" cards, you have a list of five things. You have to say whatever it's NOT and your teammate has to get three correctly before the time runs out in order to get the coaster. So, for instance, if the objects is a giraffe, you have to say "This is not a reptile. This does not have a short neck." Get it? The different games are all so much fun, I recommend everybody gets this game.

These pictures are all from Partini. In this picture, David picks Clay Smoothies, so he had to use the clay to show what was on the cards. He could not talk. Can you guess what this was?

He was trying to be a queen, it was hilarious!

Here, he was playing What Not, and he was describing The Last Supper. He said things like "This is not the first. This is not breakfast. This is not lunch." He did pretty well in this game.

In this picture, Kalie was trying to show a sidewalk. You should've seen the head shake to go along with it. ;)
Haha, here Jonas was humming songs. It's a game called "Hum Punch," you get a card with four songs and you can only hum them, hoping that your teammate gets two of them right. We didnt' get it...but it wasn't because of his humming skills, cuz he's the best out there.

They didn't end up leaving until one, so, needless to say, it was a very fun night. We were all laughing basically the whole time, especially while watching Jonas and David hum their songs.

Rule #60. Admit your mistakes.
