PicsThis Week

This week, let's see... Keegan had picture day at school today, both of the kids got their shots yesterday... Poor guys, Delilah got two shots, one in each leg, and Keegan got FOUR shots, two in each arm.  They were not very happy.  Earlier in the morning yesterday, while KP was at school, Jonas and I had a date with our sweet little girl, and we went to a park she had never been to before.  She had a bunch of fun, until she fell down and scraped her hand (and then had to go get her shots!) Poor baby. Tonight, the kids made their own pizzas for dinner, they had a lot of fun doing that.  Keegan is now writing his name on all of his papers at school, and we couldn't be more proud.  We also had game night on Monday night (or, if you'd rather, Family Home Evening), in which I created a game of "Bingo" using sight words to help Keegan recognize these words better and help teach him how to read.  He won!! He did so well and had so much fun reading the words and finding them on his bingo cards.  Lila also had fun, eating all of the "chips" (Reese's Pieces) we were using for our boards. It's been a fun week! Here are some of the pictures!

Happy Birthday Moma!

Happy Birthday Moma!!! We love and miss you!!

My Little Sister is Here!!!

That's right!! My dad and my step-mom had their baby!! Sweet little Madison Lee McKinley arrived at 11:29 pm on Thursday, September 20, 2012.  She was three weeks early, 6 lbs 11 oz.  She is absolutely beautiful, and we are all beyond excited!!  I am lucky enough to be able to go out there in a couple weeks and meet her!!

I can't wait to meet you, little sister, and I love you so much already!!  Congratulations Dad and Heather!!

Keegan Is FOUR!!

Sorry, I know I'm a tad bit late in posting this.  Keegan turned four years old on the 15th! I can't believe it, where has the time gone?? Here are some pictures from his birthday weekend, which we spend in Texas!
The cheetah stared at Lila on our way up to the cage
Then the cheetah went right up to her when Lila got next to the glass. He just stood there staring at Lila and snarling at her, show his teeth.
After he freaked Lila out enough, she ran away from the glass, and the cheetah stayed there, staring her down!
Keegan standing in an elephant footprint!

Both kids got to the door way and just froze, as if there was an invisible wall disallowing them to enter. (you should have SMELLED this place!)

Just 11 more years and this will actually be happening...scary!!
I'm not sure who had more fun building sand castles... :)

This spider was not part of the zoo. It was about the size of my fist. Freaky!!

The white tiger did the SAME thing to Lila as the cheetah did (minus the snarling)... She stared her down the entire time we were there!

So we went to the zoo on Friday, then on Saturday (Keegan's actual birthday) we went to Six Flags.  Unfortunately, I forgot our camera in the hotel room  :(   so we don't have any pictures from Saturday.  Keegan was soo very brave though, and he was able to ride most of the rides there (aside from the really really big and scary roller coasters).  He and I rode one together that had lots of steep drops, and oh how I wish I had a video of him on there.  His face tensed up and he was totally freaked out.  I put my arm around him and we still had about 9 more hills to go. I said "Are you okay?" He said, still with a very frightened look on his face, "Yes mommy...wooooooo!" As we are at the end sitting on the cart waiting to get off, I said, "Wow, I didn't realize that was going to be so scary, I'm sorry buddy.  It even gave ME butterflies in my tummy!"  He said, "Yeah, it gave me dragonflies and honey bees in my tummy!"  He said it was fun, but when I asked if he wanted to ride it again with daddy, he quickly sat in the stroller and said no. Haha.  It was a very fun day though, and the kids were great! :) Happy Birthday to our little man!

Quick Update

Not much has happened in the past month (I say that, and yet probably so much has happened!).  KP started his second year of school last week, and it is going really well.  He loves his teacher, and has a couple kids from his class last year in the same class as him this year, so that's great.  He fell down on his second day of school, scraped his knee.  Then, on the third day of school (the very next day), he fell and scraped the same knee again.  It was a big of a dramatic thing for him, but thank goodness he is fully recovered from his ordeal (lol).

Delilah is talking more and more.  She can tell us most of the things she needs or wants now.  She maybe isn't saying so many more words as she was before, but she speaks more clearly and more direct now.  Every morning, I go in there to get her and begin to change her diaper, and she said, "I want Daddy. Where is Daddy?" She is a MAJOR daddy's girl.  She'll say, "I want eat" or "I want Kabab" ('kabab' is her way of saying what we normally call 'kaba' - chocolate milk.. that extra 'B' at the end is adorable).  She loves to ride in the car and play outside, she is always saying, "I want shoes, lets go!"  She can point out most of her body parts, and is the best cuddle buddy you could ever imagine. Her eating habits are still pretty poor, but we have recently switched her to a protein shake instead of regular kaba, and it is going well!  Speaking of eating habits, Keegan's are much better, and he nearly finishes his whole plate at dinnertime. That's a huge success for us!

Another update from Keegan, and this one is the most exciting - he can write his name!!!
He completely took me by surprise the other night when he first started doing it.  The first time, I helped him slightly with his 'G', then he proceeded to write his name completely and totally by himself at least six times that night alone!! We are so proud of him, I can't even put it into words.  Did I mention that he is still THREE YEARS OLD??  (okay, fine, he turns four on Saturday...but he's still three!).  C'mon, let me brag a little.  :)
WAY TO GO, KP!!

Random Pics

I have been a very bad blogger lately!! I am so sorry. If it's not one thing, it's another! Anyway, here are some pictures from the past month. Enjoy!
Lila got into the mud, and loved it!
The kids watching "The Lorax" at Annabelle's 5th Birthday Party

Sweet Vanessa, one year younger than Delilah
Camden, three weeks older than Delilah

Annabelle is five! (her birthday is the day after mine)
 Annabelle and Amanda

After Annabelle's birthday party, we went on to Monroe to visit my friend Kalie and her new baby. Kalie's husband is a firefighter so the kids got to play in the firetruck!!

There is a story behind this last picture.  The other night, Keegan, Delilah and I were all playing in his room.  He usually gets in a really good mood when we are all playing in there, and comes out with the truth about a lot of things, mostly things he knows he has done wrong.  He first brought me the scissors, and said "Here Mommy, I accidentally brought these scissors in my room earlier." I said "Okay, thank you so much for bringing them to me."  A few seconds later, he brought me the book and said, "Mommy, I am so sorry, I cut these pages in the book."  I said "Well, it's okay honey, you told me the truth about it and that is the most important part." He then sat on his bed just like you see there and said, "I am such a failure."  Talk about a broken heart!! He is an old soul, for sure.
