Missed Pics

I was so excited as I ran back from the mailbox this afternoon with my new power chord! Woohoo!

Keegan and Jonas look IDENTICAL here. I love this picture so much.
Bath time!! Keegan is now in the big boy (aka regular sized) bath tub and he absolutely loves it. Just look at that smile :)If only the duck were a chick.... hahahLook at our blue-eyed baby :) I wonder if they'll stay that color.......Jonas swears he heard him purring after this... Mmmm... Applesauce
Oh, what a great day it is. :) And guess what? Keegan's SECOND TOOTH broke through today! Back to back, he now has both of his front bottom teeth visible! Score!

Milestone!!!

Keegan got his first tooth today! Woohoo! Mark your calendars...or don't, but I will!!

P.S. I have so many pictures I've been dying to post. I'm hoping the new laptop chord gets here by the end of the week.

How Big is Keegan?!

Our little boy has done quite a bit of growing in the past six months.

At birth, Keegan weighed 7 pounds, 6 ounces (~3345.3 g?) and was 19 inches tall/long (~48.26 cm?).

Now, Keegan weighs 18 pounds (~8164.8 g?) and is 27 inches tall/long (~68.58 cm?). What a big boy!

Those of you reading in Germany, help me out on the metric measurements. :)

Broken Laptop :(

Okay, so its more like "broken power chord to the laptop." The cats must've thought it would be fun to chew through the wire, and now there's a short in the circuit. I have already ordered another chord, but it will supposedly take another two weeks for it to get here. Keep your fingers crossed ; I'm tired of doing everything on my phone. (this is really difficult as Jonas and I are in the process of finding a place to move into in May)

Rule #99. Think big thoughts, but relish small pleasures.

Keegan Gets Shots!

On Wednesday, Keegan had to get his six month immunizations. I scheduled the appointment this time so Jonas would be able to go with us. After seeing the look on his face just after the first of three shots, I'm sure Jonas wouldn't like to go with us next time.

Keegan's recovery from the shots was a tough one this time. All day yesterday he was miserable with a fever. Luckily, he's feeling better today!

Cute Video of Avery

Okay, I have really got to learn that I can't take videos sideways! Sorry, but this one isn't going to be right side up. Here is Avery saying "Bye-Bye" to me, make sure to pay attention to her facial expression as she does it. It's the funniest thing, hehe.

Rule #97. Always have something beautiful in sight, even if it's just a daisy in a jelly glass.

A Day of Fun

Keegan had a very good day yesterday. His girlfriend Avery came over AND he got to play with the kitties (he LOVES the kitties). And then, both he and Avery got to play dress up with a cowboy hat.Rule #96. Lend only those books you never care to see again.

Bo and Sophie Turn One!

Exactly one year ago today, my kitties Bo and Sophie were born. I've had these kitties since before they were born (for those of you that remember, I got their mom at college, kind of with Jonas). I can't believe they're already a year old. Sophie

Bo (aka "Bozo")

Happy One Year Birthday kitties! Aren't they just super cute? :)

Half A Year Old!! ...Yesterday!

That's right! Yesterday Keegan "turned" 6 months old! As you can see in this next video, he was pretty happy about it.

I can't believe he's already 6 months. My little boy is growing up on me so fast!

Loud Baby

Here is Keegan screaming to get my attention. His screams mean nothing other than "Let's see what Mommy does when I do this."

Little Crawling Machine

Keegan started crawling on Monday (March 9th), so maybe that adds to why I haven't been posting in here as often as normal. He's quite the handful now! I took a short video. When he gets going, he really gets going! He goes from one end of the apartment to the other in under a minute, when he wants to. In the video, he simply wanted to play with the mop.

Happy Birthday Conner!!

I feel awful for missing my little brothers THIRTEENTH birthday!! It was yesterday (March 9th) and one of the biggest birthdays yet (first there's 5, when you go to school; then 10, when you hit double digits; then 13 when you become a teenager!).

HAPPY belated BIRTHDAY CONNER!!

David After Dentist

I've just seen quite possibly the funniest video ever. It's well-worth watching. It's about 2 minutes long, but like I said...a definite must see.

Click here to see the video.

Oh, I can't wait for Keegan to start talking. :)

"Gangsta" Baby

He wasn't in a very smiley mood, I'm assuming because he's teething, but here he is in the cutest hat!

Walk on the River

Today was such a pretty day out, it was about 84°F (~29°C) and breezy. Jonas and I decided to take Keegan and head up to the Red River for a walk. Here are some of my favorite pictures!!

It was so nice!! Have a great weekend!

Sweet Baby

Sweet little guy fell asleep mid-swing.

Excuse my lousy looks, I just thought it was sweet that Keegan was laying on me. He hasn't done that for about four months.I realize that I make a lot of seemingly-pointless posts, but pictures are memories and people forget. I never want to forget all of these precious moments.
Rule #87. Even if you're financially well-to-do, have your children earn and pay part of their college tuition.

French...Braid!

So I've only ever french braided anyone's hair (besides mine) twice, and the second time was last night. The first time was on a guy from my college, as you can see here.

Needless to say, I didn't do a very good job. Well, last night wasn't much better when I tried to do Kalie's hair.Hopefully I'll get this skill down soon so I can braid my daughter's hair, should I ever have one. One day....

Rule #86. Don't smoke.

Playing Around

While Kalie and I were slaving away in the kitchen, Jonas captured some really cute pictures of Avery and Keegan playing together.

How precious are they??

Jonas also got a nice "portrait" (is that what this would be called?) of our baby boy. It would've been better if he smiled, but still cute. (Every mother's words, I'm sure)

Rule #85. Never encourage anyone to become a lawyer.

Taco Night!

Last night, Kalie and I cooked tacos for the men. It was a great meal, kind of a reward to them for working so hard all week.

Okay, so this may be one of those "you had to be there" kind of story, but I pulled out my sour cream while we were cooking and said "This is all the sour cream I have, will that be enough?" Kalie gave it a look like ...THAT...is your sour cream? and said "No, but it's fine, I'll just call David and tell him to bring ours.

Thirty minutes later when David finally shows up, I got a kick out of how much they really like sour cream. (the one on the left is mine)

Pooped

Keegan and I went grocery shopping today for taco night with the Atkins. He was awake when we got out of the car and I put him on the floor just while I put the groceries away. This is what I found once I was finished.

Keegan's Blanky!

This is my mom and her boyfriend Paul. For the past six months (okay, so not the whole time) they have been working on making a blanket for Keegan. It came in the mail last week, and I absolutely love it.

A huge THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to them for this totally awesome gift. It was made with love, and that's more that I can ask for.

Rule #82. Steer clear of restaurants with strolling musicians.

Bandana Boy

So, I have some scraps laying around from the blanket that my Mom and her boyfriend Paul had made for Keegan. I decided to turn Keegs into a little ninja.

He's not as mean as he looks, I promise. :)
Although in these, he doesn't even look mean.
Rule #81. Avoid sarcastic remarks.

Multitasking

Keegan is already able to do so much. I'm working on putting a timeline of his accomplishments together - I have to try to remember as best I can and with the help of others when he did what.

Anyway, he's on the verge of crawling correctly. He can already crawl backwards, and he gets so frustrated because he sees something but gets farther and farther from it. One thing he is good at now is sitting up. Here he is sitting up, smiling, teething (chewing on his fingers) and waiting all at the same time. Okay, so now that I wrote it down, it doesn't seem so impressive, but cute nonetheless.

Rule #80. Slow dance.

Like His Daddy

Here is Keegan wearing his daddy's shirt taken this morning. I have a feeling this won't be the last time he'll do it (even though this time it wasn't by choice). Isn't this just adorable?

The Sleeping Dreamer

For some reason, I can't get to sleep as early as Jonas does (maybe because he gets up 2-3 hours before me?). As I sit up in the bed working on a crossword puzzle, I can hear Jonas sleeping. I'm not meaning this entry to come off in a creepy way, but I suggest everybody watches someone sleep at least once in their life. It's so interesting the way this chimerical world plays a part on our physical beings.

All of the sudden, Jonas began to breathe more shallowly and quickly. I watched his inconsistent breaths for about two minutes before waking him up and immediately asking him what he was dreaming about.

Jonas usually only remembers his dreams maybe once or twice a week. I can remember at least one dream every night, so his dreams always humor me.

Anyway, his dream was basically that there were snakes on the bed. Don't we all hate those? I've noticed a change in the pattern of Keegan's breathing while he's asleep. What do babies dream about?

Rule #79. Don't mess with drugs, and don't associate with those who do.

Cindy's Journey

This is Rick and Cindy. They are my mom's neighbors. They are some of the kindest and most accepting and loving people I will ever know. They have four children - Ryan (~24), Matt (~21), Nick (~19), and Jenna (~14).

Cindy has a kind of cancer that runs down her spinal cord. When she told us about it in June, she had said that it was terminal. It's what took her mother from her. This past week was a big one for this family; Cindy has received a surgery to help her situation. The surgery was two sessions of eight hours I believe. I wish I knew more, I will talk to Nick later to find out in more detail what's going on. They have a blog where you can follow her and see how she's doing. I have a link under "Family and Friends" called "Cindy's Journey" for her. Please keep Cindy and her family in your thoughts and prayers.

Rule #78. Don't take good health for granted.

Work, Work, Work!

Well, the break was good while it lasted. Jonas went back to work yesterday after having only 48 hours off. This schedule is tough, I can't wait for it to get straightened out.

This machine is called the "winder" and it's what Jonas works on at work. To the best of my knowledge, it's the end of the machine where all of the paper is spun onto reels. I've found a picture on the internet and I'll try to explain what exactly they do where Jonas works. (I'm sure he'll post later editing it haha).
Pratt Industries is a 100% recycled company, so the first two steps do not apply for Jonas. After those steps comes the wet end. This is to clean all the paper. Then comes the dry end (self explanatory. Then comes Jonas's machine...the winder. Can you imagine if there is a paper break in there somewhere? Somehow, there's a downstairs (maybe directly under the entire winder machine?) and when there's a break, depending on how long they go before noticing, it piles up to above his head. I'm not really sure if they have to start completely over with that paper or what. Maybe I should've learned more about this before posting about it?

David is working on the dry end. I'm pretty sure Kalie knows more about all this then I do, maybe she'll post about it in her blog...

Rule #77. When someone wants to hire you, even if it's for a job you have little interest in, talk to them. Never close the door on an opportunity until you've had a chance to hear the offer in person.
