Sweet Shades 8-)

Rule #203. Return borrowed vehicles with the gas tank full.

Thanksgiving!

Well, this was our first Thanksgiving EVER without my family. 2007 was Jonas' first Thanksgiving, which he spent with my family, along with 2008. Well, this year, I decided it was time to be a big girl and try to do it all on my own. I was pleasantly surprised! I cooked for Jonas and Keegan, of course, and our neighbor David (whose wife was out of town) and neighbor Celeste (whose boyfriend was at work). These pictures don't even capture the whole gist of it.. it's the smell of the food throughout the house that was so delectable.

Cleaning the 14 lb turkey
Stuffing it (which Jonas thought was the grossest thing)
Pouring the delicious König Pilsener over it
Sautéing the vegetables for the stuffing
Mixing it all together
My boys enjoying time together on Thanksgiving
Before....
Almost ready...
The final product!
Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, and rolls!

Rule #202. Show respect for all living things.

12 Teeth!

I'm not sure if I posted about this already, but Keegan has four of his molars in now! They've been growing in for a while and, even though it's not a very happy picture, I've finally managed to get a shot where you can see the bottom ones.

Rule #201. Don't carry a grudge.

Daddy's Spitting Image

Keegan, in my opinion, looks more and more like Jonas every day.

It's almost like looking into a mirror, haha.
Silly Keegs :)

Rule #200. Don't watch violent television shows, and don't buy the products that sponsor them.

Learning to Climb

Uh oh. The day has come where Keegan learned how to climb. Last week, he climbed onto our coffee table and couch. This week? It's into the toy box and up onto the entertainment center...grrrrreat!

Rule #199. Park at the back of the lot at shopping centers. The walk is good exercise.

Videos

I just uploaded two new videos to YouTube. One is him drinking from a regular water bottle for the first time and the other is of him and Jonas eating ice cream. I think they're both cute and funny :)

Rule #198. Feed a stranger's expired parking meter.

Ravioli Face

I just love this picture!

Rule #197. Don't forget, a person's greatest emotional need is to feel appreciated.

New Video!

I've posted a new video on our YouTube Channel of Keegan playing with Jonas at the hotel in Dallas. It's called Playing with Daddy. (The links will bring you directly to the video). Enjoy!

Rule #196. Surprise a new neighbor with one of your favorite homemade dishes - and include the recipe.

Random Pictures from this Week

Gizmo showing his pearly whites for the camera
Hanging out with my little guy
He looks so sweet here - I love those pjs!
Obviously not enjoying the long car ride very much, hehe
And passed out during that ride
I straightened my hair for the first time in FOREVER!
Keegan's hair is getting longer every day it seems like!

Rule #195. Determine the quality of a neighborhood by the manners of the people living there.

Gizmo's Crate

Keegan thought it was HILARIOUS for us to get in Gizmo's crate and pretend to be trapped.
Rule #194. Eat less red meat.

Dallas (Oct. 29-31)

For the first time in I think 9 months, Jonas spent some time out of Shreveport. He's been working so hard lately, we decided to take a trip to Dallas for a few days. We went to The Galleria while we were there, which is probably the biggest shopping mall either one of us has ever seen. It was nice for Jonas so just relax for a few days - even though poor little Keegan was sick (and still is) and it's kind of hard to relax at a time like that, it was a good change of scenery!

Playing with us and having a good time:)
Reading his favorite book (and looking like he doesn't want to be bothered! haha)
My boys in their PJ's laying on the bed
In the center of The Galleria. If you look on the bottom floor, you can see part of the giant ice skating rink that was there. How cool is that?!

This little girl and her mom were playing with this thing on the wall (in their giant play area for kids at the mall) when Keegan decided that her turn was over and it was his time to play. The little girl was so scared of him after that, she wouldn't go near him!

Keegan's new outfit that he sported at Benihana that night
Playing on the way to the car at the hotel
I like what my Dad said about this picture - "Is that a halo over his head?" Hehe
In front of the Benihana in Dallas - it is the most beautifully decorated (both inside and out) and biggest Benihana I've ever seen!

So I guess it's true what they say - Everything is bigger in Texas!

Rule #193. Use less salt.
