Bo Update

On Monday, Bo got his cast off and had to wear this cone up until today, when he got his stitches out. He's still not really walking on his leg, but at least we're getting closer to it being fully usable again! He's recovering nicely and quickly, luckily, and he's still as sweet as can be. The vet said he's probably the coolest cat they've ever had in there :)
Someone asked if he's peeing on the carpet here. He's not, this was right when he got home with the cone on his head and if you look, you can see that the cone is caught behind the bottom of the high chair, and he was trying to get over it.
He had 8 stitches and got them all out today, it looks good!

Rain, Rain, Go Away

While walking out of the grocery store the other day, it out of nowhere started POURING down rain! Poor Jonas and Keegan got soaking wet!

Bo Update

Bo is back at home now, hobbling around with a cast on. Poor thing.
It's been hard on all of us. Keegan can no longer go into the kitchen and that frustrates him - I have it blocked off because Keegan doesn't know not to grab Bo's leg, which he did yesterday as soon as Bo got home and it really hurt Bo. Jonas is financially stressed. I just worry about Bo constantly - I can't get his pain pills in his mouth so I know he's hurting, and I have to clean his cast probably 3-4 times a day. The doctor says he should be fully recovered in 4-8 weeks.

Rule #226. When someone hugs you, let them be the first to let go.

I have uploaded three new videos to YouTube!

Rule #225. Never tell anyone they look tired or depressed.

It's Warming Up!

It has been so cold recently, like in this picture taken earlier this week, when Keegan and I went out for a walk and as soon as we came back, this is what Keegan looked like!
But yesterday, it was so nice! We were all able to get outside and - in shorts!
Rule #224. Criticize in private.

Where's Keegan?

Keegan can now climb into one of our cupboards! He's growing up so fast, it's scary sometimes.
Rule #223. Praise in public.

Bathtime!

Keegan has a new favorite way to bathe! He lays on his belly, pushes and kicks himself around the tub, and puts his face under the water, acting as if he's swimming! It's so cute and funny :)
Rule #222. Think twice before burdening a friend with a secret.

New Favorite Snack

Keegan's new favorite snack is the cereal Lucky Charms. For those that aren't familiar with this kind of cereal, there are two kinds of food in it. One is just like the standard Cheerios, kind of bland in taste but good for you. The other is a tasteful colored marshmallow, which is by far the best thing ever. At the young age of 16 months, Keegan has already differentiated the two and now only eats the marshmallows! I don't think I learned that until I was about 5!

Rule #221. Don't major in minor things.

Surgery

Our wonderful cat Bo has been missing since last Friday, part of the reason why I haven't posted. I've been out searching for him for hours on end each day, with no luck. Yesterday, Jonas heard him on the other side of the fence in our backyard. He was in the neighbor's (behind us) backyard, and he couldn't hop the fence because of his limp. Jonas hopped the 8 foot fence and passed him over to me.

I immediately brought him to the vet because he wasn't putting any weight on his left hind leg. They took some x-rays (Bo was being such a trooper the whole time, didn't complain once) and discovered that his leg was fractured at the tip of is Tibia (right on the knee, equivalent to us breaking our shin bone) in a way that he will need surgery to put pins in there to keep it stable. He may also need some ligament repair, but we won't know that until they go in for surgery.

This surgery is costing us $2000, something we can not afford right now. I will be having a garage sale, having all proceeds go towards his surgery, and a bake sale as well. We need all the help we can get!
Bo is going in for surgery some time today. Please send up a prayer that it all goes well.

Rule #220. Spend less time worrying who's right, and more time deciding what's right.

Happy Birthday Savannah!

Today (Friday the 15th of January) is my youngest sister Savannah's birthday! She turned 12 today, she's getting so big and all grown up! Happy birthday Savannah!!

Welcome Logan Loyd!

On Wednesday, January 13th at 7:27 PM, my beautiful cousin Brianne and her husband Jeff welcomed their first born into the world, a little boy named Logan Loyd. He was 8 lbs 4 oz and she was at 41 weeks gestation. Nothing better than a big and healthy baby!!

So, Keegan doesn't have any first cousins yet (my sibling's children), but he now has his FIRST second cousin (my cousin's children)! Congratulations Brianne and Jeff, I wish you and your little family all the best!! :)

Rule #219. Never go grocery shopping when you're hungry. You'll buy too much.

Pics With Santa

So every year, Keegan has gotten a picture on Santa's lap. And every year, we forget to hand them out! I have several copies of both, oh well! I'll just do what I do best and put them on my blog :) Here he is, DEAD ASLEEP, on Santa's lap on his first Christmas.
And here is the only good picture, before he got really scared of Santa and started crying hysterically, from this past Christmas.
Here is just a fun strip of pictures we all took the same day Keegan sat on Santa's lap this past time.

More Videos

I added a couple more videos to YouTube a couple days ago and forgot to post on it here! Guess It's Time To Eat and Helping Mommy Clean. Enjoy!

Rule #217. Be a good loser.

Soooo Cold!

Soo.. of COURSE we don't get snow here! But we do get the 17 degree weather (-8.3 degrees Celsius) and the ice! It's super cold, and poor Jonas is at work right now until the morning. I bet he's freezing :( Gizmo's water was frozen solid this morning.

Rule #216. Don't discuss business in elevators. You never know who may overhear you.

Wonderful Additions

We got a new car! A new Toyota 4Runner :)

We love it!
You see, we needed a new (and bigger) car because...
That's right! We're expecting our second child! I am 9 weeks along and due on August 15th (although they keep switching between the 13th and 15th). Due to the complications while delivering Keegan, I'm going to go ahead and have another cesarean section and they're going to induce at latest August 8th. So, if I don't go into labor before then, we already know that this baby will be born on August 8th, 2010! Yipee!

Rule #215. Don't plan a long evening on a blind date. A lunch date is perfect. If things don't work out, both of you have only wasted an hour.

While Oma and Opa Were Here..

The time flew by while they were here! After Galveston Island, they (with Keegan and Jonas) went to Cross Lake. Here are some pictures from that and random pictures around the house while they were here. :)

This little girl ran up to Keegan and gave him a big kiss!

Rule #214. When complimented, a sincere "thank you" is the only response required.

Christmas Vacation

I know, I know, I've been slacking! I promise to write more, as a New Year's Resolution (starting a week late...hehe).

We spent Christmas in Galveston Island, Texas, with Jonas's parents. We had a very cool beach house! It was so great, especially for Jonas, to finally have a vacation. He's been working so hard lately.

Obviously not morning people, hehe
