Lila got this really cool lamp from her Gigi (Heather - my dad's wife) - there is a button you press to turn the light on, and when you do, the four princesses spin and dance and music plays. They kids have a BLAST playing with it.

Do You Like The New Layout?

Please give me your feedback! Do you like the new layout of the blog? I thought it was neat because you can choose the way you wish to view it - whether it be similar to the way it was before ("Classic") or any other way. I personally like "Flipcard" because it makes it so easy to navigate through the years! For now, it is a trial period, I want to know if you like it better this way or the old way. :) Comment below, or send me an e-mail!

Turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, creamy corn casserole, spicy creamy corn casserole, green bean casserole, peas, ham, stuffing/dressing, rice and sausage, apple pie, pecan pie, upside-down cake (not really sure the name/kind of that one), and Jell-o! Talk about a feast! We were all so tired afterwards, all four of us slept about fourteen hours!

Keegan is Famous!

Surely, by this point, all of you know about Twitter, the relatively-new social networking site. I have a twitter, but could never really get into it. I didn't see the point of it, but let me tell you about something that I am thoroughly excited about.

What twitter is all about is that you can have followers, and you "tweet" about anything you'd like, and anybody that is following you will see your tweet on their homepage.

Tom Bergeron, the host of Dancing With the Stars and America's Funniest Home Videos, is on twitter, like nearly all celebrities, politicians, authors, people-of-interest. And 200 million of their fans.

This morning, I found out that Tom Bergeron tweeted about our very own Keegan Schuster! I ran around the house shaking for like 10 minutes (yeah..not even kidding). I am still so excited about it!
What you can also do on Twitter is "retweet" someone's tweet. Anybody can tag anybody in a tweet, but the only way it will show up on YOUR page is if you retweet it....which is exactly what Bob Saget did.
So, the way I see it, Keegan is now a celebrity. :)

DAY074

Day 74 of the 365 Day Challenge

Keegan had his Thanksgiving Feast at school today! He ate turkey, cheese squares, grapes, popcorn, yogurt, and apple juice! He got to show of his Pilgrim hat and his Indian headband! It was so nice to see him with his friends (even though the entire time the parents were there he was the only child to not say a single word!) and to get a feel for what it would be like to put on a party for 12 three-year-olds!

Lila's First Words!

Lila has been babbling a lot lately, but tonight she clearly said what we are calling her first words! Right as we were finishing up dinner, she kept saying "Take a bath! Take a bath! Take a bathy bath!" She must've said it 100 times. It was so exciting and she seemed quite excited about it as well. David and Heather were over for dinner tonight so they got to witness her first words as well! It was too cute :)

Day 65 of the 365 Day Project

Keegan's Ramblings

Whenever we pass a liquid tanker on the road, Keegan and I like to guess what's inside. The first thing I usually suggest is milk, so naturally, when we passed one a few weeks ago, Keegan said "Hmm maybe it's milk in there." I said to him, "But wait! It says 'HOT' on the back so it can't be milk." Keegan thought about it for a moment, and then said, "Oh, I bet it's fire sauce!"

Keegan had his first sleep-talking episode a few nights ago. Jonas does this sometimes, but he has only rarely done it when he was still sleeping. He usually says something bogus if I wake him up in the middle of the night. I am not sure if Keegan was asleep or if he had woken up briefly from a dream, but he said, "Stop it! You're hurting Lila's hands!" He said it twice in a row when he was sleeping in our bed.. Lila was sleeping in her bed in her room.

Three Years

It was three years ago yesterday that our little family moved to Shreveport, Louisiana. Can you believe it?? Where has the time gone? In these pictures, you can really see the changes of the last three years. It is such a short amount of time in retrospect, but for our young family many things have changed.

Keegan is not a seven-week old baby anymore. We have our sweet Delilah. We own a home! Jonas has climbed the ladder some at work. I have gone back to work part-time. Keegan is in preschool now. I am Room Mom for his class. Lila is climbing on the furniture. Jonas is making new friends outside of work. I got a car. I sold my car. Jonas got a car. I got a different car. We no longer have our little green truck that gave us many years of transportation. I went back to school. Still no degree, but making progress. Jonas went back to school - for work. He will work on his Masters next. Keegan is going on the potty. Keegan has slept in our bed nearly every night for the last year. Keegan slept in his bed the last three nights. Delilah blows kisses. Delilah loves to cuddle. Bobo and Sophie are our little loves. Bobo is comfortable enough with the kids again (a year and a half after his surgery) and is back to cuddling with them. Sophie never stopped cuddling with them, but has her moments. I was in a movie. Keegan should be in movies. Keegan is very animated. Delilah is a Momma's Girl. Delilah is a Daddy's Girl. Keegan is Keegan's Boy. Keegan is Delilah's copy-cat. Jonas is quite the handyman. Jonas is the smartest person I know. I am not really playing the piano anymore. I teach the piano more now. We had a dog. She wasn't what the shelter told us she was. We miss that dog. We had another dog. He wasn't what we thought he would be. We don't really miss that dog - we're happy with where he is now. We got yet another dog. He gave us a wonderful year. He got sick too much, we never knew why. We miss that dog terribly. We won't get another dog for many many years, don't worry. We had an apartment. We rented a house. The house was moldy. We didn't know it for two years. It made me terribly ill. We left that house. We bought a house. I love decorating our house..our Home. We have a fish. We got the fish for Keegan when we brought Delilah home from the hospital. Said fish is invincible. She. Just. Won't. Die. Keegan loves to play beanie babies. Keegan loves to play with his cars. Keegan loves to role-play. Delilah loves music. Delilah loves her baby dolls. I love arts and crafts. I love photography. I love scrapbooking. Jonas loves his kids. Jonas loves Fifa. Jonas loves his truck. Keegan hates being called Keegsy. Delilah hates being left alone. I hate folding clothes. Jonas hates driving with me in the car. ;)

I think that just about sums up the past three years. I couldn't have stood living here this long without my best friend by my side. I love every second with you, Jonas!! I also couldn't have made it this long without the small handful of close friends I've made here. Amber, Heather, Celeste, and Julia. I don't know what I'd do without you girls! And, of course, it is all worth it because of my two little darlings. Everything we do, we do for them. They are everything in this world. They are our hearts.

A Tragic Day at the State Fair

We had such a wonderful time at the State Fair of Louisiana today! Here are some of the pictures from the day.

Right after getting off this ride, at around 11:40 am, tragedy struck the campgrounds. We were standing in line for another ride when the ride next to us was unloading. It was a ride kind of like the teacup ride - the platform spins and each individual car spins. As the ride operator was helping to unload children from one of the cars, one of the younger children went to the operators station and pressed the start button. There are children still out of the cars on the platform when everything starts moving and spinning. One child, a four year old named Sheldon Lewis, was struck down by a car and then pinned underneath of it. He was dragged for about five seconds before the operator was able to get back to the station and turn the ride off. Jonas and a few other guys ran up there to try to help free the little boy, but the ride wouldn't budge and there was only about six inches between the platform and the car, where the little boy was pinned between. The fire department and police department responded, and got the "jaws of life" out to cut away at the car and platform to free Sheldon. It took about thirty minutes before they were finally able to get him free. He was unconscious and not breathing at that time, and was rushed to LSU Hospital.

Sheldon is in critical condition at the hospital now, fighting for his life. You can read the full story here. Please keep him and his family, as well as everybody else involved, in your prayers!
