Mardi Gras!

Yesterday we went to our very first ever Mardi Gras parade, right here in Shreveport! It is a statewide festival, not limited to New Orleans. It was pretty cold yesterday, the kids were troopers! We were at the end of the parade line, we spent about six hours out there enjoying the good food and good company. Here are some of the pictures!

She wore gloves for the first time and it was kind of hysterical haha. She didn't know what do to with her hands!! She stood there for probably 10 minutes and didn't move her arms in the slightest. It reminded us of Ralphie's little brother Randy in the movie "The Christmas Story." (if you haven't seen that movie, watch it! It's one of my favorite Christmas movies)

Keegan was so sweet and included Lila in everything yesterday!
Delilah with AJ, a coworker of Jonas's. AJ and his wife just welcomed their third little girl a few weeks ago!

Best. Gumbo. Ever.

Delilah figured out that if she kicked hard enough, the horn would honk.
She thought it was hilarious!!
I am not sure how safe this is... using a portable gas stove to keep warm.
Holden playing horseshoes!
Mick and his hat... Keegan had to give the man with the silly hat a hug, simply because he had a silly hat!

Shreveport's finest!
At the start of the parade!! When the semi trucks came and honked their horn, it scared Keegan. And then he got hit in the head with flying beads (that hurt too, and I don't think it being so cold helped any!) so he spent most of the parade in the car.

Ed and little Branson. He was such a trooper!

My sweeties!

Bryson! Bryson goes to school with Keegan, and his dad works with Jonas
Bradley, a coworker of Jonas's
Bailey!
Mick, the guy with the silly hat, traded it in for a silly behavior, lol
The Cazares family!

This Krewe has my vote.. it's Garfield!

This is the sweetest grill ever. I had never before seen a grill that was also a trailer. We have the coolest friends ever!
115 necklaces, four balls, three cups, one rubber ducky, and one jump rope later... we practically came out empty handed compared to everybody else there!
Overall, I think our first Mardi Gras experience was a success! The kids had fun,and Jonas and I actually got to enjoy ourselves - something we don't get too often with two rambunctious toddlers!
