Coloring and Chasing Smoke!

Yesterday, the kids had some coloring time. Lila is at the age where she is more interested in eating the crayons (although, she is getting really good at using a spoon and fork, and using shaped toy obstacles) than drawing, and Keegan gets bored with drawing on paper and his attention soon turns to the walls. Needless to say, the kids don't get coloring time very often!

Every time, though, it seems as if Keegan gets better and better at drawing!
He did his "E"s perfectly yesterday! Today too! He can now identify his capital As, Bs, Es, Ks, Ls, Os, and Ss! I'm so proud of him :)

These were taken today, while out driving around town
I happened to snap this, not even looking, holding the camera over my head and upside down. I thought it was cute!
This CRACKS me up! She does this thing like she's gasping, like you would do when you see something shocking, sucking in all her breath and making a noise while doing so. Its her signature, and it's hilarious :) She's the silliest baby ever!
That is smoke from a nearby wildfire

Tomorrow morning is Keegan's orientation for school. It's a parents only meeting where I will get to meet his teachers, see his classroom, and learn what they will be doing for the most part. I am excited, nervous, and sad all at the same time. Keegan has been begging us for weeks, no, months, to let him go to school. He is finally getting that opportunity, and it is scary! His first day is on Wednesday. Right now, I'm okay with it, but there is no telling how we will feel that morning. I hope he fully understands that I won't be at school with him, and I hope he is nice to his teacher and classmates. There are so many thoughts racing through my head, but I think he is more than ready to start learning and being around other children his age. My little boy is growing up!

365 Day Project

There is a project some folks are doing called the "365 Day Project" where you take (or choose) one picture to share with others that sums up your day. I am beginning this project today. I, of course, will be taking more than one picture a day, but I will make a special post for the 365 Day Project Photo of the Day each day (at least, that's the goal). Here is Day One.

Even with all of the hurricanes and tropical storms in the south east going on and still to come, my area is in a major drought. This has been causing several wildfires, throughout East Texas more specifically, but today we had a bad on in Oil City, Louisiana, about 45 minutes north of us. We decided to take a drive around Shreveport after we realized the smoke was covering our beautiful skies. I captured this photo while crossing over Cross Lake here in Shreveport. It was hard to choose a favorite, I will share more later, but this is my Photo of the Day.

Funny Little Mouths

I just created a new blog full of funny saying by Keegan, and I will try to post every time he says something new and hilarious. If you know of anything funny that Keegan has said and I didn't post, please e-mail it to me!! Or, if you have a funny saying that your child has said and you'd like to contribute, I will be happy to post it and give you credit. :)

It is a work in progress, bear with me.

Piggy Back Rides

These pictures are too cute not to share!! I got this picture of Jonas and Delilah yesterday, and just melted my heart!
It reminded me of this picture, taken with Keegan back in early 2010 (I believe - I can't seem the find the date of the original picture). Keegan was just a few months older here than Lila is now.
It's so funny to me, how two kids that really don't look a whole lot alike can look just like one person. I think it's easy to compare in these pictures how much the kids really DO look like Jonas, and yet, they look so different. I'm still trying to find some of me in the kids - my mom says that Lila looks more like me, but.. really?? I'm not seeing it haha. Maybe my nose. Okay definitely the nose. That was the first thing my Grandparents said when they met Lila for the first time "Oh my goodness, she has your nose! It's so...unique." (Thanks Grandma!) Haha, and my mom says her eyes are mine. I guess I need to take some pictures like this with the kids because, honestly, right now I'm feeling like I had nothing to do with creating them, it is all Jonas! lol ;)

Either way. Our kids are CUTE. Let me brag a little. :)
