We went to Germany from May 10 to the 24th to visit Jonas' side of the family. It was sooo great to see everybody, and Keegan especially had a BLAST! He learned so much in the two weeks that we were there, and now understands German just as well as English. I hope he can keep it up!
The flight to Germany was pretty miserable. We had already been up all day, flying 2 hours from Shreveport to Atlanta, then a 4 hour layover, then a 10 hour flight to Stuttgart. Keegan only slept the last 3 hours of the 10 hour flight, we were really exhausted.
He climbed this ladder all by himself! He's getting so big
The city center of Schorndorf
With the lovely Moni :)
Getting his hair cut by the woman that gave Jonas all of his haircuts growing up, including his first!
There was one fish in here that kept swimming in circles. Keegan would say "Fish! Fish!" every time he saw it, and then whine a bit whenever the fish left his view. This went on for a good 5-10 minutes lol. He now calls Jonas' uncle "Fish" hehe it's cute
Babs and her twin brother
He fell on the trampoline, then immediately looked up at Jonas and smiled. You can see just about everybody in the background laughing at that haha.
He felt so cool that he got to go out a door his size!
Opening a present from Theresa :)
Jonas played soccer with some of his old friends.
Not a morning person, haha
Sitting on Bopa's bike
Jonas loves having a son! He gets to act like a little boy again haha
At Kesselhaus (am I spelling that right?)
This restaurant has it's own brewery inside, it's pretty neat!
We spent a day at Wilhelma Zoo in Stuttgart with Jonas' grandparents. It was so nice, the weather was chilly but not too cold, and Keegan loved seeing all the animals! (Okay, I loved it too) :)
A view of Stuttgart from one of the highest points in the zoo
Love this :)
Keegan saw this rhino, and since it was in the water, he automatically assumed it was something else. "Fish! Fish!" No, Keegan.. Not a fish, haha.
This elephant climbed over the fence and reached with her trunk all the way down into the mote for some food. She must've been hungry! At one point it looked like she was going to fall
At a Mexican restaurant
So there were four dips - sour cream dip (Keegan's favorite), cheese dip, hot sauce, and peanut butter dip. Since I am the only one there that likes peanut butter, I was the first to try it.. It was just not good haha. So Jonas spun the plate around for Keegan to try it. He looked at it for a second, analyzing the change, thought "Oh what the heck" and dipped his chip in. As SOON as he tasted it, he had such a look of disgust on his face, it was HILARIOUS. I wish I had my camera ready for it!
On the way home, he FINALLY slept! But for not even 2 hours, blahh
"Mean-mugging"
So it was overall a really great trip! I wish we were able to visit more often, it's so nice there and you can really see how much the family and friends love Keegan. Now that we're back, it's just preparing everything for Lila to make her debut in about 10 weeks. Woo hoo!
